And now, presenting the after photos! Matching tie dye pajamas! I'm so pleased with how they turned out!
The final missing touch that I want to work on for this project is a label. I'm thinking of making a stencil and using some paint to stencil it directly onto the pajamas.
Does anyone out there have a good method for making handmade labels for handmade clothing? I would definitely appreciate some tips, tricks, and creative ideas!
bummer, blogger just ate my comment!
ReplyDeleteThe dying looks so great, you make me want to try some tye-dye (never done it before)!
As for the labels, I've silk screened onto twill tape with really nice results. If you don't feel like silk screening, you could always get a stamp made and stamp onto tape or the garment with a fabric stamp pad or fabric paint. Custom stamps are *really* cheap online or if you're feelin' fancy you could carve your own!
these are so so beautiful! I really envy your friends! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I'm so inspired! Usually I sleep in worn, oversized t-shirt, love the idea of sleeping in pretty pajamas, maybe it will help me sleep better!
ReplyDeleteAs for label, I use twill tape and stamp. I have a custom made stamp and also alphabet stamp where I can arrange the alphabet to form a word. Karyn at makesomething makes stamp with typewriter and fabric scraps (http://www.makesomething.ca/2009/01/02/typewritten-fabric-label/). I think it's a wonderful idea.
how beautiful! they look like summer desserts– popsicles and fruit candy. mmm.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to try some of these label-making techniques myself... let me know if you want to get together and try something out together!
Hi ! The pictures are great, it looks amazing :)
ReplyDeleteFor the labels, I can recommend a tutorial Iro Iro made a while ago http://wp.me/pVEXU-91 and otherwise, you can use some pen to write on fabric, iron it and it's done ! Good luck :)
These look great. I love these dyeing efforts. I have tried some dyeing myself lately... but they don't look half as good as yours. nice work!
