November 8

My boyfriend tells me that I should complete my projects before I start on new ones, and I guess this dress is the perfect example of why that's some good advice. I think I started making this dress back in May, but only just this past weekend got around to finishing it! Despicable, right?

Anyway, I made this dress following Grainline's Tiny Pocket Dress tutorial which explains how to turn her Tiny Pocket Tank into a dress with a button placket. My own alterations to the pattern included lowering the neckline in the back and adding a drawstring casing and drawstring around the waist. The buttons and the fabric were both purchased secondhand.

Yes, it would have been a wonderful summer dress, but luckily it works well with a sweater and tights for fall.

PS: I've been wearing this dress quite a bit lately and probably should have ironed it before these photos, so pardon my wrinkles.

  2. I'm so bad for starting things and not finishing them! A habit I'm continually working on trying to break!

  5. I love this! That is such awesome fabric. The drawstring waist is genius. I'm constantly starting things and then finishing them months later. Too many things to do, so little time!
