I received the Mission Maxi dress pattern from Jamie Christina Sewing Patterns in the mail today which is super exciting!
I decided to purchase this pattern after seeing it sewn up beautifully by a few of my favorite bloggers. I especially like Cirque Du Bebe's Tigerlily Maxi and the Tie Dye Maxi made by True Bias (oh how I love all things tie dye. I am from Berkeley after all).
Next step: buy jersey knit fabric! And then maybe a bit of practice working with jersey knit.
Anyway, I'm excited for new sewing projects so I thought I would share!
I'll be back soon with photos of the tank and shorts that I ended up sewing this past week. I'm on a sewing roll!
Yay you will love it! Thanks for the mention. I've found the killer combo is stretch needle, stretch stitch and walking foot. You can't go wrong. Can't wait to see your version.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the shout out. Can't wait to see your version. I have already made two and am tempted to make another. It's just so stinkin comfortable.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your version! I really loved Sophie and Kelli's versions but I'm never sure if I can pull off a maxi dress. Maybe yours will be the one that pushes me over the edge!
ReplyDeleteYep, totally loved both versions- it doesn't look like one can do wrong with this pattern! Looking forward to yours, especially if it's so Berkeley-inspired. :) I just sent my serger out for service, but this makes me so antsy to get it back!
ReplyDeleteEep! I just got this pattern, too! I'm so excited to see your version! Sophie and Kelli's are too flippin' cute!
ReplyDeleteI love being on a sewing role! Looking forward to seeing how this dress works out. Looks like a really great pattern. Good luck with the jersey fabric hunt!
