Last night I put together my first Jamie Christina Mission Maxi Dress and I'm so excited about it!
Inspired by the tie dye Mission Maxi on True Bias, my cousin Liz and I decided to make our maxis in white jersey. I'm planning on tie dyeing mine in black and gray, while Liz is going to ombre dye hers blue.
I haven't worked with jersey much before, so this isn't quite my best work. That stuff is tricky to cut out and to sew! But I think the flaws that I notice will become less clear once the dress is tie dyed.
Now that mine is done, I have to put together the second one for Liz without the godet. And then on to dye fun time!
hey, thanks for the shoutout. i can't wait to see how yours go. let me know if you have any questions.
ReplyDeleteWell I think your maxi looks lovely, I look forward to seeing how the tie dye goes.
ReplyDeleteyep, it looks great! I love the idea of tie-dying with a muted palate versus the super brights. can't wait!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be so hot!
ReplyDeleteAlready you have one sleek and enticing looking dress!

ReplyDeleteOoo looking forward to seeing it.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that pattern and every time I see another one I want it even more. I should just order it already!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know this pattern, it is a very nice one. I can't wait to see the result with the tie & dye
ReplyDeleteOooh nice! Can't wait to see the tie dye!
ReplyDeleteI love the godet on that pattern. I have a TNT Kwik Sew maxi pattern, but I wear them enough that I should probably have a few different styles.
ReplyDeleteI think your dress looks great - I'm excited to see the dyed version.
It looks really good! I'm planning on dyeing a skirt, but I'm a bit scared to ruin it. Does anyone know is the color washable?
