Two tone

About a week ago my best friend told me to update my blog. Well after dragging my feet, here it is! I've been working on a few sewing projects lately, but hadn't been too excited about any of them, until now!

This two tone dress is my practice version of a children's dress pattern by Figgy's that I found on pinterest a while back.

The best part about this dress is the pockets! The worst part is the back because it is so plain.

This practice round turned out to be wearable, plus I know what to change for my final version. Win, win.




I'm thinking this fabric will be used for my next go at my pattern.
It feels wonderful to be excited about a project!

    What a perfect knockoff. I have to agree that dress by figgy's makes a great adult dress. Nice colours too!

    it's fabulous.. and i dig the colors.. wish i can pull off that look, but dresses that are not fitted at the waist look crappy on me

    I found Figgy's patterns recently too and have been wanting to knock off several of their designs! I love yours!

    So freakin' cool. I love that you made it from a children's pattern. I always find inspiration in kid's clothes (side effect of my day job, I guess) but I wonder how it will translate in adult size. This is genius! Love it.

    This is gorgeous! It looks very grown up, you'd never guess it was a childs pattern! Looking forward to the patterned version too, are you going to keep the contrasting side panels?

    Just found your blog and am so inspired to sew now! I really love this dress and wish I could make one but, alas, I lack your pattern-drafting skills. Luckily I know a little girl to make the Figgy dress for.
